Welcome

Welcome to the 2025-2026 School Year!

Dear Families,
On behalf of the staff at the Taylor Early Childhood Center, I am excited to officially welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year! We are thrilled to begin this journey with our littlest Blackcats and to be part of their very first school experiences. Our team has been working hard to prepare for your child’s arrival, and we look forward to all the learning, growth, and discovery that the year ahead will bring.
At Taylor, our goal is to provide a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment that lays a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Here, your child will gain independence, build confidence, and become familiar with school routines. They will learn essential social skills, develop self-regulation strategies, and build positive relationships with peers—all with guidance and care from our dedicated staff.
This year, we are proud to announce that Taylor Early Childhood Center has once again been awarded the MOQPK grant from the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Office of Childhood—for the second year in a row. This prestigious grant provides funding that allows all of our students, ages 3 to 5, to attend school tuition-free.
We are grateful for the continued support that makes early education accessible to all families in our community and are excited about the opportunities this funding brings to our students and school. Research shows that students whose families are involved in their education are more likely to succeed academically. We invite you to be an active part of the Taylor community as we work together to help each child reach their full potential.
We deeply value family involvement and believe that when families are active participants in their child’s education, students thrive. Our first opportunity to connect will be at Open House on August 18th from 1:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We encourage you to attend with your child to meet their teacher and our staff. Throughout the year, we will offer many more opportunities for you to join us. Teachers will keep you informed of events and classroom updates through the Procare app and our Facebook page.
This year, Alesha Farris will serve as the Assistant Director of Early Learning. She brings with her valuable experiences as an early childhood educator. She will be a great asset to our building, staff, and students.
As the Director of the Taylor Early Childhood Center, I am honored to support your child’s educational journey. My door is always open, and I welcome your input, questions, and ideas. I look forward to a school year full of growth, learning, and joyful experiences.

Warm regards,
Charissa Kappler
