Welcome

Welcome to Taylor Early Childhood Center

Dear Families,

I want to officially welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year. My staff and I are excited for the chance to work with our littlest Blackcats, and we look forward to being part of their first school experiences. We have been working hard preparing for your child and we are excited for all of
the learning opportunities the new school year will bring. Our goal at Taylor is to create a warm and rich environment that sets a firm foundation for lifelong learning and discovery. Here, they will gain independence and confidence while learning school routines. They will learn appropriate social skills and will be given lots of guidance as they learn to self-regulate their emotions and interact with peers.

At the Taylor Early Childhood Center, we love when families participate in their child’s education, and we will have several opportunities for you to join us. Teachers will communicate upcoming events via seesaw app and on our Facebook page. Research on school success states that parents who participate in their child’s school events have a greater likelihood of academic success in the classroom. Because of this, we want to encourage you to become an active participant at the Taylor Early Childhood Center. Building strong relationships between home and school is a key factor in helping each of our students achieve, learn, and reach their individual goals.

Our school was named the Early Childhood Program of the Year in 2019 and 2021, this was awarded by the Missouri School Board Association. This award is a reflection of our staff's innovation and hard work. In 2021, 2022 ,and 2024 we received the Promising Practice award. This award is a nationally recognized award for schools that promote good character development in students.

I am thrilled at the opportunity to get to know each and every student and family this year and will guide you as you begin your child’s educational process. As the Director, my door is always open, and I welcome your input, concerns, and ideas. Together, we will help our students reach their fullest potential. I am looking forward to a fun-filled year full of learning!!!

Sincerely
Charissa Kappler
